Phobias are very different from fear. Phobias are extreme reactions to a minor situation. An example of this may be fainting because you see a tall building. If you see a lion or something and your flipping out, that isn't a phobia. Phobias only come from things that pose little or no danger. Just like seeing a picture of a dog might make you breathe hyperventalate, like this dog. Phobias can develop in childhood but it is important to tell the difference from a phobia to a fear. A phobia makes you anxience and become overwhelmed. People with phobias may try to avoid something even if they lose something like their job. There are lots of phobias and people dont know why they feel that way but they just do. That is what a phobia is.
